No. The general admission ticket to the Tower of El Salvador is already priced very affordably. Currently, discounted rates are applied exclusively to minors under 18 years old and groups of more than 20 people.

We do not offer a special rate for students. Since our standard admission is already very economical, discounts are only available for visitors under 18 and groups of more than 20 people.

We accept both payment methods. You can pay for your tickets directly at the tower’s ticket desk using cash or a credit/debit card, whichever is most convenient for you.

No. Currently, ticket sales are exclusively available in person at our ticket desk upon arrival. We do not offer online sales or advance booking for individual tickets.

No. In the city of Teruel, there is no combined ticket or general tourist pass. Each monument manages its own entry and rates independently, so the ticket for the Tower of El Salvador grants access exclusively to our facilities.

According to current regulations of the Spanish Tax Agency, visits to historical and heritage monuments are not included in the category that benefits from the reduced cultural VAT. For tax purposes, these venues are classified under the leisure and entertainment sector. Therefore, Spanish law requires us to apply the general rate of 21% VAT on all our tickets.

Please note that access for vehicles in the historic center of Teruel is restricted. Therefore, we recommend using any of the public and central parking lots located around the historic district. From any of them, you can reach the tower on foot in just a few minutes.

We do not have official locked lockers or key deposits. However, so that you can enjoy your climb comfortably, we allow you to leave suitcases, large backpacks, or strollers in the entrance desk area during your visit.

No. Due to the historic nature of the building, the tower facilities do not have public restrooms for visitors.

Of course! It is not only allowed, but we consider it almost mandatory to do so and share them. We love that you take home the best memory of your visit. The only restriction we have, due to copyright laws, is that audiovisual recording of the documentary shown in the Alarife hall is not permitted.

Yes, you can. Your ticket is valid for the entire day, which means you can leave the premises and return later by showing your ticket, provided it is within the same day of purchase.

The recommended average duration is about 45 minutes. The tour includes an interesting 15-minute documentary film, leaving you with around 30 additional minutes to climb, descend, and calmly enjoy all the content the tower has to offer.

No, there is no time limit. As it is a self-guided visit, you can organize the tour at your own pace and stay to enjoy the spaces as long as you wish, always within our regular opening hours.

No, visits to the Tower of El Salvador are self-guided. However, so you don’t miss any details, the lower rooms and the belfry feature comprehensive explanatory panels. Additionally, we provide QR codes so you can listen to audio guides on your mobile phone, and the experience is complemented by the documentary shown in the Alarife hall.

To ensure all our visitors enjoy the experience to the fullest, the explanatory panels throughout the tower are available in five languages: Spanish, English, French, German, and Italian. School and youth group visits are also self-guided. However, to guarantee safety and the smooth running of the activity, the tour through the facilities must always be conducted under the strict supervision of their teachers, tutors, or accompanying adults.

No. The tower faithfully preserves its fascinating original 14th-century architecture, so the visit is carried out in the traditional way, walking up its historic staircases and passageways.

The climb consists of 122 steps, but it is a very pleasant and manageable ascent. The route alternates sections of stairs with flat hallways and features three internal exhibition halls. These rooms are the perfect spot to pause, enjoy Mudéjar history, and rest comfortably before continuing up.

Regrettably, no. In order to protect and maintain intact its original 14th-century medieval structure, the interior design of the tower does not allow access for wheelchairs or visitors with severely reduced mobility.

Conventional pets are not allowed inside. As it is a medieval monument with relatively narrow passages, we take this measure to ensure the comfort of all visitors and out of respect for people who may have allergies or phobias. However, accredited assistance or medical service dogs are fully permitted.

Due to the stairs, it is not possible to do the tour with a stroller. However, you can conveniently leave it in the entrance area and visit while carrying the baby in your arms or in a baby carrier. The climb is neither steep nor complicated, making it a very accessible family activity.

For people with vertigo, there is no problem at all: the entire climb takes place inside the enclosed tower with glass windows. Upon reaching the belfry (the highest point), you will find a spacious area protected by balustrades, allowing you to enjoy the views safely. Regarding claustrophobia, it depends on individual sensitivity; keep in mind that while the three exhibition rooms are spacious, the connecting passageways are original medieval structures and relatively narrow.

In the city of Teruel, there are four major medieval Mudéjar towers: by age, they are the Tower of San Pedro, the Cathedral Tower, the Tower of San Martín (twin to ours), and the Tower of El Salvador. These four gems form the ensemble declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Additionally, there is a fifth tower, the Merced Tower, though it belongs to a late Mudéjar style (16th century) and is not included on the World Heritage list.

Yes. In 1986, UNESCO declared the Mudéjar art of Teruel a World Heritage Site, recognizing its outstanding universal value. Included in this prestigious list alongside our Tower of El Salvador are the tower, roof, and dome of the Cathedral of Santa María de Mediavilla, the tower and church of San Pedro, and the Tower of San Martín.

No, it is currently not possible. In Teruel, only two Mudéjar towers are open for interior tourist visits: ours (Tower of El Salvador) and the Tower of San Pedro. The Tower of San Martín and the Cathedral Tower do not have interior access, so they can only be admired from the outside.

Although both are indispensable gems of Turolense Mudéjar art, they present key differences:
Architecture: The Tower of El Salvador features a complex double-tower structure (Almohad minaret style), while the Tower of San Pedro has a simpler structure with an interior spiral staircase.
Height & Views: El Salvador stands out for its greater height and privileged location, offering spectacular views over the valley (La Vega) and the entire city. The Tower of San Pedro is smaller and lower.
Age: The Tower of El Salvador dates back to the 14th century, whereas the Tower of San Pedro is a century older (13th century).
Visiting Experience: The Tower of El Salvador is considered the most iconic and spectacular in the city, while the Tower of San Pedro offers a visit of great heritage value in a more modest scale.
